This trip started on Hickory Run. We only had an hour or so on Sun afternoon so we picked a spot close to the campsite. I got this little brookie.
The fordway isn't any more. It is drained. Maybe on purpose, maybe not but my first fish came from here.
The next morning we hit the lower part of Hickory Run. We didn't set the world on fire anywhere we went but I got a few.
That last brown was taken from this stretch.
Ed was with me on this trip. There he is at the same run. I got one more in this run. That fish is on the next pic.
I got one more at that same location. Had to switch to a nymph to get it though.
Went to pursue stockers. Got this lone rainbow below the Beltzville Dam. I'd like to get to know this water better. Plenty of fish...constant rises but only one…
Only problem with this spot is that it is popular. Good number of fish, and fishermen. Saw a couple guys keeping everything they caught on spinning gear.
This location is ok if you're just looking for a stocker or two. It's rumored that there are browns here but I didn't see any.
Fished the Saw Mill and got this little one. Looks to be a small brown.
Met a nice fellow at Beltzville. Told him we were looking for streambred brookies and he suggested the Saw Mill. Thanks Ed!! This turned out to be a wonderful…
Then a couple casts later another fish. Think I like this stream.
And yes that last fish was at the same spot. In skinny water under a bridge.
Then I hooked into a little bigger brown. This stream has some nice holes...and some nice fish.
Here is the spot I took the last fish.
Another shot of the Saw Mill. I didn't fish here long nor did I hit much of the stream but what I experienced was pleasurable. I will return in the not too…
Next morning we went to Leslie Run. It didn't seem to hold fish in the numbers it did in the past. Still, there's a few if you're willing to work for them.
Yeah, fishing under a bridge again. That's just where the willing fish were living.
Really nice little stretch. Maybe there are more fish here but I insisted on using dries.
Fished up to the falls. I was told of the falls but never ventured far enough upstream to see them. That was a mistake. Really a beautiful spot!
